Happy new school year!
I hope you had a good summer and are excited for more educational goodness in your inboxes each Monday morning.
Regular readers will know I am a big mini-whiteboard fan. So here is a mini-whiteboard tip that is ideal for the start of the new school year: ask your students to write their names in the corner of their mini-whiteboards.
Now, when you ask a question that every student responds to on their mini-whiteboards, you immediately know the names of the students who have given each answer without needing to probe further. This should help you learn your students’ names quicker without breaking up the flow of your questioning. It also introduces an essential means of participation from lesson one.
