How many of your students are participating?
Is this the most important question a teacher needs to consider?
Hello!
Last week, I wrote a post for my weekly Eedi newsletter entitled How many of your students are participating?
In the post, I shared an exercise I have done with many maths departments this year, challenging teachers to reflect on how many students are listening, thinking and understanding in various phases of their lessons, and how do they know?
You can do the exercise on your own, or with colleagues. It should also transfer to other subjects and other phases. At the end of the post, there is an opportunity to share your reflections in an anonymous survey, and I will be revealing the results in the next Eedi newsletter.
So, if you have a few spare minutes, let’s get reflecting on how many of your students are participating.
